No grounds for keeping me under custody: Kocharyan
Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan claimed at court today that there are no grounds for keeping him under custody.
“This is just a consequence of a process in Armenia in which I was targeted as the only guilty in the whole process,” he said.
Kocharyan also stressed that he understands in what situation the judges have appeared.
The second president claimed that there are court buildings, judges, prosecutors but there is no justice.
“There are people, symbols, officials but there is no justice,” Kocharyan stressed, adding that it is not pleasant for him to stand at court trying to persuade that he has no intention to flee or impede the examination.
“It does not fit in my biography and in general neither of the people sitting on this side of the court room is a person who will flee. Throughout their whole life they were guided by dignity and patriotism and no one is able to erase it from our biography no matter what they say,” Kocharyan said, adding that he is the number one interested in fair trial.
The second president also said he does not imagine how he will tell a witness “you know, your testimony is not a good one, go an change it a bit. I will die of shame.”
“Now Femida scale is in your hands, do how you find right,” Kocharyan said, applying to the judge.
