Students gather in front of government building demanding Arayik Harutyunyan’s resignation

Students gathered in front of government building today demanding resignation of Armenia’s Education, Science, Culture and Sports Minister Arayik Harutyunyan.

ARF-D youth wing student stated that they will not allow regress in the education sector.

“I want to get education and I see some senseless funding which could have been addressed for us, but they are not. Why, for what?,” the student asked.

Another student stressed that they demand Arayik Harutyunyan’s resignation because of his anti-Armenia and anti-democratic steps.

“We demand the resignation of the minister and his team, we do not want to have a minister who puts the Armenian language, literature and history under both and, or either or,” he said, adding that Arayik Harutyunyan must go home.

“He has ruined himself, he has not justified expectations and passed the red line. A new Armenia-focused and pro-Armenian minister must come instead. As tax payers, as citizens of Armenia we demand his resignation,” representative of the ARF-D youth wing stated, adding that the protest actions will continue until minister’s resignation.
