Yerevan court denies motion of Armenia’s second president’s defense team: Kocharyan to remain in custody
Yerevan court of general jurisdiction denied the motion of the defense team of Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan submitted on November 5 to release him on bail.
One of the lawyers of the second president Aram Vardevanyan requested from the court to recognize the application of bail permissible and change Kocharyan’s preventive measure from arrest into release on bail.
Supervising prosecutor Gevorg Baghdasaryan stated that they continue claiming the existence of risk to impede the examination and flee from the supervising body in case of change of preventive measure.
The next court session is set for November 12.
