Aspiration to become constructive must not allow violation of our interests in Karabakh conflict settlement issue: expert
What Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan says over Artsakh conflict is not a principle or formula of regulation but an approach to the process, expert from Hayatsk think tank Hermina Mkhitaryan said, speaking to Aysor.am.
At the meeting with Russian reporters yesterday Pashinyan said he prefers to speak with his own formula in Karabakh issue rather then to repeat the ones of the previous authorities. The PM reiterated his formula that the solution must be acceptable for the three peoples.
Referring to the statement, the expert said what Pashinyan calls a formula is just an approach to the conflict settlement process.
The expert said the chief issue is that the Armenian side does not define the main principle acceptable for it in the settlement of the conflict.
“Azerbaijan always states that the conflict must be settled on the basis of territorial integrity principle and repeats its approach in the international arena as well, while the Armenian side states about the right of self-determination of the people rather seldom,” she said, adding that Armenia besides trying to show constructive approach must also set its vision, its interest.
“The aspiration to become constructive must not allow violation of our interests,” she stressed.
