Authorities show big number of migration to Armenia while reality is quite the other: Edmon Marukyan
The Eastern European countries have an issue of big flow of migrants and Armenia objectively does not face such issue yet, My Step lawmaker Ruben Rubinyan stated at the Foreign Relations standing committee today.
“Of course it does not mean that we must open to the whole world without any restricting mechanisms and guarantee tools. At the same time, let us not deceive ourselves thinking that all the people of the world are waiting for us to migrate to Armenia,” he said.
Head of the Bright Armenia faction Edmon Marukyan citing the statement of Armenia’s former prime minister Hrant Bagratyan that the authorities are manipulating with the numbers of people migrating to Armenia, said that as far as the statement received no response, it means the government accepts it.
“You show general statistics that there is serious migration in Armenia but it appears that it is not so. It will be better Mr Rubinyan for your authorities to respond to the statement for us not to be manipulated by Bagratyan,” Marukyan said.
“Mr Marukyan if to choose the manipulative path we may state that approximately hundred thousand Indian citizens have arrived in Armenia and show numbers,” Rubinyan said.
Head of the Bright Armenia faction at the same time stated that there are 37,000 Indians in Armenia, but Rubinyan dismissed the information.
“Mr Marukyan I hope besides Bagratyan you will sometimes listen to other politicians as well,” Rubinyan said.
