Yerevan mayor says entrepreneur Samvel Alexanyan did not donate trucks to municipality, refuses to unveil names of real donators

Businessman Samvel Alexanyan has not donated trucks to the Yerevan Municipality, mayor Hayk Marutyan told the reporters today after the session of the Yerevan Council of Elders.

“Referring to this topic I would like to thank all the organizations and people who make donations for the Yerevan community. It is a very important process. Indeed, Yerevan has its budget but the issues we are yet to solve are much more than our budget can afford,” the mayor said, attaching significance to the assistance of the Armenians living in Armenia and Diaspora.

Asked to name the people who donated the trucks Marutyan said, “Frankly speaking I do not remember the names of these organizations and the people, because for me there are no important and not important things, everything is important for me.”

Speaking to reporters earlier, member of Luys faction Davit Khazhakyan stated that big entrepreneurs assisted the municipality in the solution of garbage removal issue and donated garbage removing trucks - KamAz.

Khazhakyan claimed that part of these trucks were donated by businessman Samvel Alexanyan.
