Armenia not interested in having controlled judicial system: Armenia’s PM
The biggest challenge in Armenia is the establishment of independent judicial system, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated today at the two-day international conference at the NA dedicated to the 15th anniversary of Human Rights Defender’s Office.
“In Armenia we register that together with the legislative and executive powers the judicial as well contributed to the mass encroachments of human rights. Today the key challenge for us is to have independent judicial system. I want to register the will of the government – we are not interested in having controlled judicial system, and we are principally against having such judicial system,” Pashinyan said.
He stressed that the judicial system needs radical, in-depth changes.
“Today Armenia is undeniably democratic country but today this democracy exists as an emotional expression which is the continuation of emotions of the 2018 non-violent revolution. Now we need to make our country’s democracy institutional, for its future not to depend on the taste, mood and vision of a leader, person, political party,” he said.
