Human rights protection in Armenia not ensured perfectly: Nikol Pashinyan
The Human Rights Defender’s institute is an established structure in Armenia and had an undeniable contribution to the protection of human rights, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated today at the two-day international conference at the NA dedicated to the 15th anniversary of Human Rights Defender’s Office.
The prime minister said that during these years the relations between the Ombudsman and the government were not simple.
“We hope that as a result of non-violent revolution in Armenia in 2018 new conditions and atmosphere have been created for the activity of the human rights defender and in general new conditions for the protection of human rights,” Pashinyan said, adding that it does not mean that the human rights protection in Armenia is perfectly ensured but means that it is a priority for the Armenian government just like for Ombudsman.
