Putin has friendly ties with Armenia's second president Kocharyan, contacts with Pashinyan are constructive: Peskov
Russia’s president Vladimir Putin has friendly relations with Armenia’s ex-president Robert Kocharyan, spokesperson of Russian president Dmitry Peskov told Sputnik Armenia in Bishkek, adding that the contacts with Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan are constructive.
“During the recent visit of Vladimir Putin to Armenia he met with Kocharyan’s spouse Bella Kocharyan. They maintain the contact. Putin and Kocharyan have friendly relations,” the spokesperson said.
Peskov refused to comment on Kocharyan’s arrest.
He noted that much time has passed since the change of power in Armenia and the pause in the Armenian-Russian relations has already been filled.
Besides, the spokesperson said that Pashinyan contacts with Russian president very often.
“Pashinyan and Putin have created constructive working relations, these relations develop brilliantly just like as it should be between our two countries,” he said.
As to the upcoming visit of Pashinyan to Russia in 2020, Peskov said that the visit will be organized but no concrete dates are being mentioned yet.
He though added that the visit may be agreed in very short period of time, in this regard there are no problems.
