New escalation in Karabakh conflict to have disastrous consequences not only for the South Caucasus but other regions as well: Armenia’s PM
Military ambitions are not promising, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the CSTO Collective Security Council’s session in Bishkek.
He stressed that the peaceful regulation of Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the negotiations over it have no alternative.
Armenia’s PM said that the position of the Azerbaijani leadership is dangerous not only for the South Caucasus but the CSTO countries as well.
“I think the new escalation will leave disastrous consequences not only in the South Caucasian region but outside of it too. Being in war condition Azerbaijan may become a convenient trampoline for Islamist radicals who losing the influence in Syria search for new territories for their activities. By the way, geographically Azerbaijan is very convenient platform through which the radicals may elaborate their activities in all directions – east, west, north and south,” Pashinyan said.
