Our work is not about hoping: Attorney General on Russia’s consent to arrest Gevorg Kostanyan

Our work is not about hoping, Armenia’s attorney general Arthur Davtyan told the reporters today asked whether they hope Russia will upheld their motion to arrest former prosecutor general Gevorg Kostanyan.

“There are set procedures, our task is to ensure the implementation of these procedures, submit necessary documents,” Arthur Davtyan said.

He stressed that each sovereign country makes decisions on its own.

The attorney general also stressed that he personally has not contacted with Gevorg Kostanyan.

“The investigator contacted him and very public contacts took place and you all know about it,” Davtyan said.

It has been reported earlier that search has been declared for former attorney general Gevorg Kostanyan.

The Special Investigation Service applied to court for applying arrest as preventive measure.

Gevorg Kostanyan is engaged as suspect in March 1 case.
