Armenian government to assist Artsakh authorities in conducting free and fair elections: Armenia’s PM
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan referred in a Facebook post to the meeting with Artsakh president Bako Sahakyan and the candidates nominated for the post of the president of the country.
The candidates are chairman of the Artsakh Democratic party, acting head of the Artsakh National Assembly Ashot Ghulyan, acting foreign minister of Artsakh Republic Masis Mayilyan, head of the Free Homeland party Arayik Harutyunyan.
Member of Dashnkatsutyun faction of the National Assembly of Artsakh Davit Ishkhanyan also attended the meeting.
“We referred to the organization of presidential and parliamentary elections in Artsakh, spoke about the political situation there,” Pashinyan wrote, stressing that during the meeting he referred to Karabakh conflict settlement process, works on construction of apartments there.
“I have reiterated my position that the conduction of free, fair, transparent elections in Artsakh in accordance with international standards is extremely important and stressed that the Armenian government will assist Artsakh authorities in doing it,” Pashinyan wrote.
