Bright Armenia, Prosperous Armenia factions’ lawmakers visit young people in police department

Lawmakers from Bright Armenia, Prosperous Armenia factions Ani Samsonyan and Arman Abovian visited Kentron police department where young people demanding resignation of education, science, culture, sports minister Arayik Harutyunyan were taken.

Human rights advocate Ruben Melikyan also visited them.

Speaking to reporters after seeing the young people, Ani Samsonyan said that they have no complaints.

“There was an issue after they were not allowed to use phones, but we solved the issue,” Samsonyan said.

She said neither of the young people had any injuries. She said she is currently planning to visit Erebuni police department where other 5 young people are kept.

Twenty-four young people were taken to police departments after police used force to open Vazgen Sargsyan street the protesters closed in demand of resignation of the minister.

Earlier, four young people were taken during the protest action outside the ministry.
