Ex-minister of agriculture Sergo Karapetyan testifies against Armenia’s third president to avoid arrest
Founder of Adekvad party Arthur Danielyan, citing his sources, wrote that Armenia’s third president Serzh Sargsyan has been involved as defendant based on testimonies of former minister of agriculture Sergo Karapetyan.
“Sargsyan is accused of waste of some service diesel checks. Now they decide whether to arrest him or not,” Danielyan wrote.
Aysor.am contacted with Special Investigation Service for the comment, but SIS official said they will speak later.
According to Aysor.am’s source in the law enforcement body, the SIS has put condition before Sergo Karapetyan either give testimonies against Serzh Sargsyan or be arrested.
The same source said that after giving testimonies against Serzh Sargsyan, Karapetyan received guarantees for not being arrested.
Earlier, on June 10, 2019 Hetq wrote that former minister of agriculture Sergo Karapetyan has been charged in the sidelines of a criminal case examined at the Special Investigation Service.
According to it, the case related to the process of provision of available fertilziers to the farmers via subsidized program.
The harm to the case is calculated over 1 billion AMD.
Pastinfo writes that currently Armenia’s third president Serzh Sargsyan is at Special Investigation Service.
