Azerbaijani FM describes talks with Armenia’s counterpart in Bratislava as “serious and hard”
Azerbaijani foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov described his talks with Armenia’s counterpart Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in Bratislava as serious and hard, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.
“Yesterday we conducted 3,5-hour long negotiations with my Armenian counterpart. I can say that these were rather serious and hard talks. Unfortunately, we still have unresolved issues,” Mammadyarov stated.
He said that during the meeting the progressive steps of the settlement of the conflict were discussed.
Mammadyarov also stated that Azerbaijan’s position over conflict resolution has not changed.
“The first step must be complete and unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from the Nagorno Karabakh region and other occupied territories of Azerbaijan,” he said, stressing that it will open a good opportunity for the next step – determination of status of Nagorno-Karabakh.
