If Nikol Pashinyan preserved last signs of rationality he must think of conducting snap parliamentary elections in 2020: Armen Ashotyan
To avoid the impending crisis and catastrophe Pashinyan-Mnatsakanyan couple used Serzh Sargsyan-Edward Nalbandyan’s negotiation package, vice-chairman of the Republican party Armen Ashotyan said at a press conference today.
“If to revise Zohrab Mnatsakanyan’s latest speech in Bratislava, with an exception of one idea, there was an impression as if Nalbandyan is speaking. Was there a need to lose a year and a half, destroy the positions in the negotiations, become arrogant and say I know everything, I start the negotiation process from my own point and in the end come and cling from the political heritage of Serzh Sargsyan as a lifeline,” Armen Ashotyan stated.
He described the discussion in Bratislava as foggy.
“There is clear dissonance before the negotiation process under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group and the final result. It is necessary to understand what happened there. I have my hypothesis, I would not like to voice them though. The authorities, having proclaimed themselves as transparent, must explain us what happened in Bratislava, what they promised, who they promised before the meeting and why the meeting was not presented to the public,” Ashotyan said, adding that after a year and a half the authorities returned to the package of negotiations prepared by the former authorities.
“The negative consequence of it is not only the waste of time and not the arrogance with which the authorities were talking before these meetings. Currently the authorities must think of plan B which must be to stop dividing the society and political field into associates and enemies, they must state publicly that in the newest history of Armenia the era of zebra – of black and white - has ended,” Ashotyan said.
He said it is very important for the people to be as consolidated as possible ahead of the diplomatic and not only diplomatic developments in the Artsakh front.
The vice-chairman of the party also voiced the necessity to format Armenia’s political system.
“If Nikol Pashinyan has preserved the last signs of rationality, next year he must initiate snap parliamentary elections. It is obvious that from the very beginning the NA was stillborn,” Ashotyan said.
he also stressed that Artsakh issue is derivative issue on the big geo-political board. "To confront it our authorities need not socks or candles with own portraits but consolidated political mind," he said.
