Love to Gyumri should not be a result of political transformations: deputy mayor
Yerevan’s deputy mayor Tigran Virabyan speaking to reporters today said that speaking about Gyumri and being concerned with Gyumri has become a trend currently.
“In 2016 when together with Hayk Barseghyan we were implementing “SOS Gyumri” charity program we were trying to find means for 33 unsheltered residents of Gyumri to free them from inhuman conditions they were living in. I do not remember anyone speaking now among those who assisted us that time,” Virabyan said, asked to respond to the comments of opposition representatives claiming that the means allocated for New Year celebrations would have been better addressed for the solution of the issue of wagon-houses in Gyumri.
The deputy mayor stressed that Gyumri is not a town to be loved periodically and as a result of political transformations.
“One cannot win dividends on Gyumri. Today all have become Gyumri lovers,” he said.
