Authorities expected to give clear clarifications over Mammadyarov’s claims: Viktor Soghomonyan

Concerns over Artsakh conflict regulations process are a lot, the anxiety is huge, head of the office of Armenia’s second president Viktor Soghomonyan told the reporters today.

“I do not remember any of the mediators state during the past decades that an Azerbaijani community must participate in the negotiations. Till now we do not imagine the concept of the authorities with which they participate in the negotiations. Moreover, until recently they were stating that no negotiations take place,” Soghomonyan said.

At the same time he informed that today the interview of the Azerbaijani foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov was published to one of the Azerbaijani TV channels and the claims found there need to be immediately rejected.

“If the rejections are not made timely we may suppose that Mammadyarov is telling the truth. While in the interview he said that currently discussions are being held over Artsakh Republic’s status as part of Azerbaijan. These issues demand clarifications. These clarifications must be given by the authorities, and I hope they will be clear, not lyrical as we are used to hear,” Soghomonyan said.
