Turkey to restrict availability of its military bases for the USA: expert
The respond of Turkey’s president Erdogan to the recognition of the Armenian genocide resolution by the U.S. Senate was expectable, expert in Turkey’s affairs Ruben Safrastyan told Aysor.am, referring to the threats voiced by Turkey’s president in the address of the USA.
Turkey’s Erdogan stated that Turkish parliament will adopt a resolution about genocide of Indians in the USA in response to the recognition of the Armenian genocide by the USA.
Erdogan also threatened to close Incirlik and Kyurecik military bases for the USA.
“Turkey always responds with threats to the actions of the American side which it does not like. These threats usually relate to the military bases in Turkey,” the expert said.
“We may suppose that the current trade of relations between the two countries does not give any results and Turkey may apply some restrictions regarding the military bases,” Safrastyan said.
He also said that the USA in its turn is too speaking about restricting the actions in Incirlik and reduction of its military force in Turkey especially after receiving proposals from Romania and Greece.
