Directed attacks implemented against media: Media Advocate initiative

Media Advocate initiative condemns the action against Zhoghovurd daily.

“It is another proof of directed attacks against informed media, presenting other opinion,” the initiative said in the statement, demanding revelation of the case.

“After the attack on Hayeli press club Media Advocate initiative and many representatives of public sector demanded from authorities punishment of the attackers while the police remains inactive for considerable period of time. The brightest example of the atmosphere of impunity and permissiveness is the attack on Zhoghovurd daily,” the initiative said in the statement.

“The permissiveness may result in physical revenge from journalists. If the police and authorities want to avoid extreme negative attitude they must ensure the security and protection of mass media,” the statement said.
