Razmik Abrahamyan and others to be charged tomorrow, preventive measure to be chosen: IC head
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan referred at the cabinet sitting today to the cases of illegal adoption of newborns by foreigners.
He said till the last moment he did not believe that such revelations will happen.
Briefing on the case, chairman of the Investigative Committee Hayk Grigoryan said that the combination of proofs allows them to charge people under the second part of Article 167 – illegal separation of child from parents. He said two weeks ago one person was arrested and yesterday another 4.
Grigoryan said charges will be forwarded and preventive measure will be selected either tomorrow or the next day.
It has been reported that director of Reproductive Health, Perinatology, Obstetrics and Gynecology Republican Institute company Razmik Abrahamyan, deputy director of the same company Arshak Jerjeryan and director of Yerevan Child’s House state non-trade organization Liana Karapetyan were arrested yesterday in the sidelines of the criminal case on illegal adoption of newborns by foreigners.
