Law on sending CC judges to early pension touches their dignity and self-respect: expert

There is a lot to be concerned with as today the guarantees of Constitutional Court’s judges are not being preserved and there is an issue with immunity, expert in constitutional issues Aram Vardevanyan told the reporters today.

He attached significance to his presence at the CC as for years he worked in the highest court.

“Have you noticed the restriction that should be displayed toward the CC judge while implementing investigative actions? While this is demand of the law. Just the opposite takes place,” he said, adding that nothing of this kind may be witnessed in any European country as the CC is above the power and it is necessary to be very cautious with it.

The expert also considered it strange the timeframes fixed in the law.

“If something is volunteer, it means it is a volunteer, there should be no timeframes. I think this law touches dignity and self-respect,” he said.
