Charging CC chairman without corresponding CC act is a crime: ex-minister
Charging Constitutional Court chairman Hrayr Tovmasyan without corresponding act is a crime, former minister of justice Davit Harutyunyan told the reporters today.
“Hrayr Tovmasyan has been appointed with the force of the previous Constitution and his immunity is acting with the whole force. Charging Hrayr Tovmasyan without corresponding act from the Constitutional Court is a crime fixed in the 309 Article of the Criminal Code (abuse of official authorities),” Harutyunyan said.
He said the case is under direct supervision of the prosecutor general and expressed hope that the latter will not be an associate of the crime.
“I hope the prosecutor general will not become an associate of the crime fixed in the Article 309 of the Criminal Code. The violence of immunity institute is obvious,” he said.
CC chairman Hrayr Tovmasyan has been charged under 2d part of Article 308 – abuse of official authorities with which negligently caused grave consequences.
