Tensed situation in Armenia’s Maralik, health minister’s decision raises wave of protest
A big number of residents of Armenia’s Maralik town, Shirak province, and employees of Maralik maternity home closed the central highway of the town in a sign of protest, photo reporter Gagik Shamshyan reports.
The protesters demand the solution of the Maralik maternity home and the town’s hospital issue.
Speaking to reporter, one of the protesters stated that the officials of the Health Ministry sitting in their warm cabinets in Yerevan have no idea of what is going on there.
“Who is the genius who decided to dissolve the maternity home and the hospital. They say they add jobs. You are not adding jobs, you are breaking the backs of medical workers. We demand Nikol Pashinyan personally solve the issue,” the protester said, adding that the road will remain closed until the PM interferes into the issue.
