Law about CC judges does not fit their qualities and ambitions: expert
The right to personal life of a person includes respect toward person’s opportunity to build his/her career, lawyer, expert in international right Ara Ghazaryan told Aysor.am, adding that the judges of Constitutional Court have made a career while now they are offered to take money and leave.
“We are speaking about person’s personal ambitions, these people have biography, have passed path, not everything is being solved with money. The CC judges find that this law does not fit their personal qualities, ambitions,” Ghazaryan said, speaking on why the CC judges have not get used of the opportunities provided by the new law.
“This law raises doubts first because it offers differentiated regulation. The so-called social-package relates to only one part of the CC judges and does not relate to the other. Thus a question rises about the purpose of the law in general. The purpose of this law does not correspond to the necessity to ensure the independence of the judicial power,” the lawyer said.
As to whether the political processes against Hrayr Tovmasyan may be viewed as pressure on the Constitutional Court, Ghazaryan said, “During this period much political intolerance speech was voiced in Hrayr Tovmasyan’s address that any processes relating to him leaves a trace of doubt that it is connected with his personality. On one hand the CC chairman is being discredited, on the other a legal procedure is being initiated. It is clear that the objectiveness of this process is doubtful,” the expert said.
Ghazaryan also stressed that there is no crisis in the CC and has never been.
“The Constitutional Court made effective decisions and solved systematic issues, especially during the past one and a half year. These rulings have helped me, as a lawyer, in various issues,” he said.
