Removing Hrayr Tovmasyan from CC chairman’s post not number one issue: Ararat Mirzoyan

Chairman of the Armenian National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan says he does not know what CC chairman Hrayr Tovmasyan is talking about when saying about being warned to resign not to face charges.

“The crime committed or ascribed to Hrayr Tovmasyan has nothing in common with any post he used to have or has now. No post supposes any actions by us. There is no political persecution,” Mirzoyan said.

As to the press publications about extramarital ties of judges that will be published, Mirzoyan said, “I have no time to comment on made-up hypotheses.”

As to whether the crisis over the CC continues, Mirzoyan said, “Of course, the situation has not been solved yet.”

Asked whether they met at Christmas service and whether Hrayr Tovmasyan voiced his concerns, Mirzoyan said, “We exchanged few jokes, that's it.”

“We are not sleeping and waking up thinking about this issue only and it is not our first goal to remove Hrayr Tovmasyan from the CC,” Mirzoyan said.
