YSU Student Council president demands his case to be examined at SIS and not be limited with service examination
President of Yerevan State University’s Student Council Davit Apoyan days ago was summoned to the Police’s internal security department relating to the case when he was brought to the police department after shots near the YSU building.
“I was invited to give clarifications regarding their internal service examination,” Apoyan said, adding that in parallel with his complaint, an internal service examination has been launched into the case.
Apoyan said he demanded for the case be studied by the Special Investigation Service and the issue not be just summed up by service examination or disciplinary reprimand.
“My goal is to reach thorough examination of the case for me to understand who stands behind it,” the president of the council said.
“There are two unlawful steps in this case – first, it was unlawful to take me to the police department and the second, it was unlawful to use handcuffs. It was aimed at discrediting me and the YSU,” he said.
Apoyan submitted application to the Police’s internal security affairs department to stop the service examination and demands the case be examined at the SIS.
He said now he is waiting for the response.
“If my demand is not satisfied, I am ready to apply to court, having all the grounded reasons for doing it,” Apoyan said.
“It is necessary to confess that a mistake took place which will result in corresponding consequences,” he stressed.
