Armenia’s PM announces new phase of repressions against opposition media and two TV channels: Aghasi Yenokyan
Media Advocate initiative’s head Aghasi Yenokyan has released a statement relating to the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement made at the government sitting today about two TV channels.
In his statement Yenokyan stressed that with his statement Pashinyan announced new phase of repressions against opposition media and two TV companies in particular.
“Let us register that starting from this moment Pashinyan assumed personal responsibility for the possible pressures. The authorities and Nikol Pashinyan in particular are badly mistaken thinking that they will manage to silence free speech with groundless accusations and nonsense unaddressed threats peculiar to the PM. These days are gone. Now no encroachment will remain without response and punishment,” the statement said.
In the statement Yenokyan also referred to the director of PM’s public relations and information center state-non trade organization Hovhannes Movsisyan, describing him as “general-supreme commander of plant of fakes in Armenia.”
“I promise this person will respond for wasting billions from the budget for creating fake-breeding plant,” Yenokyan stressed, urging all to recognize him as he must give answers to many questions.
“Today it has also became clear that the power headed by Mr and Mrs Pashinyans started working out law on removing Russian TV channels from Armenian television,” he said, adding that representatives of Soros organization are behind this law.
“They demanded from Armenian authorities to remove Russian channels and as far as they are the shareholders of the revolution, Nikol Pashinyan silently implements their demands,” the statement said.
