Rights of parliamentary opposition restricted: Bright Armenia faction head on sanctions applied by NA chairman

Bright Armenia faction head Edmon Marukyan stated today that he does not consider the sanctions applied against parliamentary opposition by the NA chairman lawful.

“I have been a deputy for already 12 years and do not remember a sanction be applied against anyone, including me and Pashinyan,” Marukyan said.

“It is restriction of the rights of the opposition and not an attempt of restriction. Today the constitutional right of the opposition has been violated which does not correspond to the values declared by the authorities, to their statements, the path they passed and the trust they received. They have violated all these values,” Marukyan stated.

Today after the dispute with My Step deputy Ruben Rubinyan, NA chairman Ararat Mirzoyan applied sanction against Marukyan, declaring a reprimand. Yesterday Mirzoyan used sanction against four deputies from Prosperous Armenia faction depriving them of right to participate in yesterday’s sessions.
