I expressed my condolences to Kutoyan’s family in response to media’s question what else the government should have done: Pashinyan
It was a very painful case, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said referring to the death of former director of the NSS Georgi Kutoyan.
“If I am not mistaken a criminal case has been instituted at the Investigation Committee under the article of causing a person to commit suicide, it means that the main variant which is being discussed now is driving the person to commit suicide. I think that the members of Mr Kutoyan’s family must fully cooperate with the preliminary investigation body to reveal the truth,” the head of the government said.
He stressed that the government will use all its possible levers to reveal all the details of this and other crimes.
“But I want to draw your attention on the noise some representatives of the previous authorities have raised as if the government has not demonstrated appropriate attitude toward Georgi Kutoyan’s death. As you know the guard of honor of PM-affiliated NSS has honored the ceremony of funerals of Kutoyan, all the staff headed by the NSS acting director was present at the ceremony of Kutoyan’s funerals,” he said, asking what else the government should have done.
“In response to media’s question I have expressed my condolences to Kutoyan’s family. What else should have government done?" he said asking why people were not raising the same question regarding Hayk Harutyunyan as they were both former officials.
