Investigators do not allow CC chairman get familiarized with court’s decision: lawyer

The search in the apartment of Armenia’s CC chairman Hrayr Tovmasyan has not started yet with the head of the investigative group impeding the full implementation of rights of the defense side, lawyer Amram Makinyan told the reporters.

“The SIS investigators and police officers are in CC chairman Hrayr Tovmasyan’s apartment for rather long time. The search has not started as the head of the investigative group is impeding the full implementation of our rights, in particular, Hrayr Tovmasyan and member of his defense team Mihran Poghosyan are not allowed to get fully familiarized with the court’s decision,” Makinyan said, adding that they have submitted corresponding petition.

“This is an unprecedented practice in the RA criminal jurisdiction. They do not to allow a person read the decision. No explanations are being given. It is unprecedented situation that I even cannot comment on,” Makinyan stressed.
