Regional peace and security - responsibility of leaders of Armenia, Artsakh and Azerbaijan
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan speaking at a news conference today stated that all know what he had talked with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Pashinyan said it has been stated in his speech on March 12, 2019 at the joint session of Security Councils of Armenia and Artsakh in Stepanakert.
“In this speech I outlined the circle of discussions in the peace talks,” Pashinyan said.
“Now we are speaking about this circle. As of the moment there is no document on the table. We must work together to approach the more substantial phase but we must use this period effectively. As to whether we used it effectively or not, I think we did not, for some reasons. One the important reasons is that the Azerbaijani side does not make equivalent statement in response to the one I made that each regulation of the Artsakh issue must be acceptable for the peoples of Armenia, Artsakh and Azerbaijan. This is the biggest impediment of the regulation process. But our approach is constructive, we think that the issue must be regulated in the circle of the principles I have voiced in Stepanakert and UN,” the PM said, adding that Armenia is ready for constructive work no matter how difficult it is.
He said that the responsibility of regional peace and stability lays personally on Ilham Aliyev, Artsakh Republic president and Armenia’s PM.
“This is personal responsibility and in some regard a general responsibility. It is an extremely complicated work,” the head of the executive power said.
