Apprehension of opposition figures to become a disgrace for the country: Larisa Alaverdyan
The unlawful, illegal actions on the Day of Army will be a disgrace not only for the authorities but for our country too, director of Against Illegal Willfulness NGO Larisa Alaverdyan said, speaking to Aysor.am.
“I do not only condemn yesterday’s illegal, unlawful actions, but I also apply to all political, public forces, all the people to be able to stop the actions of these ignorant people,” Larisa Alaverdyan said.
Alaverdyan described the apprehension of VETO initiative founder, members of Adekvad party and Narek Samsonyan as political persecution.
“I fully condemn these processes and qualify them as political persecutions, urging to stop it,” she said.
She backed the demand of human rights advocate voiced on January 28 to meet with the acting chief of Armenia’s police and get explanations.
Ruben Melikyan has presented an agenda consisting of three points offering human rights advocates and other public figures join their initiative presenting own agenda or joining theirs.
“I will just add one detail – each must feel responsibility for his/her part. They should not all cite that it was the PM’s wish or caprice. Let all officials especially of power structures feel responsibility for their steps. I am ready to join the call initiated for putting an end to this disgraceful regress we all witness now,” Larisa Alaverdyan said.
