CC chairman says the Constitutional Court to never make decision against a person, against state interests
Chairman of Armenia’s Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan speaking at Pressing TV program today said he does not know whether the PM personally directs the campaign against him or not.
“I do not want to believe the publications that the PM convened a consultation and visited certain state bodies. But unfortunately it all remains in the air,” he said.
“I am thankful that they did not demand my resignation from the very beginning, but excuse me, did the authorities have the right to demand my resignation? Are we a law-biding state or we speak in a language peculiar to criminal sub-cultures?”
Tovmasyan said that no one should be afraid of the CC as it just helps all.
Asked whether the CC may be a threat for Nikol Pashinyan to lose his post, Tovmasyan stressed that until the PM has the majority there is no such threat.
“I will advise to stay calm. No threat comes from the CC. The CC will never make a decision against any person, against state interest. Hrayr Tovmasyan has never made a decision against anyone,” the CC chairman said.
