CC Chairman Hrayr Tovmasyan’s lawyer applies to SIS demanding to inform whether they provided information to Public TV or not

Member of CC chairman Hrayr Tovmasyan’s lawyers’ team Mihran Poghosyan reports that he has applied to the Special Investigation Service demanding from the supervising body to inform whether it has provided any information to the Public TV for the preparation of the material about CC chairman or not.

“The reporters in the material used formulations which suppose that the “proofs” acquired in the sidelines of the criminal case have been provided by the Special Investigation Service,” Poghosyan wrote in the application to the SIS.

He also reminded that according to the legislation, investigative bodies and the prosecutor’s office must maximum stay away from publication of materials about the case engaging the CC chairman.

Yesterday the Armenian Public Television showed coverage in its evening news program relating to the chairman of the Constitutional Court and telling about the criminal proceedings against him at the Special Investigation Service relating to the period when Hrayr Tovmasyan was minister of justice.

Tovmasyan’s lawyers’ team claims that the coverage presents unreliable data, the proofs are presented impartially and the principle of presumption of innocence has been cynically violated.
