Ex-minister possesses useful information relating to criminal case involving CC chairman, applies to SIS to provide it
Former Justice Minister Davit Harutyunyan has submitted a written application to the Special Investigation Service to share the information he has about the rent of a territory by the Notary Chamber.
“I have offered to present the information I have but there is no response yet,” Harutyunyan said at Pressing TV program, referring to the criminal case against chairman of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan.
Harutyunyan though did not unveil the information he possesses.
“I do not want to open the brackets now, but I can state that the second part of the program (Public TV’s coverage) has nothing in common with the reality. It was extremely manipulative approach,” he said.
As to the violation of presumption of innocence in the coverage, Harutyunyan said that the presumption of innocence is not only a phrase but human right registered by the Constitution and by violating it the Prime Minister sent a message to the public that he is ready to violate any right.
“It is also an awful pressure on the judicial authorities. The judicial process has not started yet but it seems that the final court ruling has been voiced, with it sending a message to the courts what they are expected to do,” Harutyunyan said.
