Acting authorities forget about being accountable to the people: Public Oversight Center NGO chairman
Significant regress has been registered regarding the transparency of state institutions and availability of information, Chairman of Public Oversight Center NGO Babken Harutyunyan said, referring to the lawsuit he filed against Public Relations and Information Center state non-trade organization, NA and Yerevan Municipality.
“Instead of responsible approach to the issue the acting authorities have forgotten about being accountable to the people. To our surprise we are not getting answers to the inquiries we sent on how much bonuses the state institutions’ employees received. The NA hit the record recently sending the answer to December 5 inquiry few days ago,” he said.
He said they sent inquiry to the Public Relations and Information Center state non-trade organization asking information about the number of employees and bonuses they received but get no answer.
Harutryunyan said the response came few days ago with answers to just two questions. In response to other questions they sent links to the website of the institution saying that the information is there.
“The head of the structure must be convicted and go to jail. The developments taking place with his participation cannot remain without any consequences,” he said.
