NA deputy chairman says CC issue not personlized
My Step faction has mediated to postpone the NA Council’s session due to technical issues, NA vice-chairman Alen Simonyan told the reporters.
Asked whether content issues existed in the bill on convening extraordinary session and the delay is agreed with is, Simonyan said, “I don’t think so.”
Referring to the statements of the opposition that the bill is disputable and anti-constitutional, Simonyan said, “I am convinced, and I do not exclude that during the substantial discussions our colleagues will join the initiative as it is another opportunity to clarify the political positions.”
Asked whether this bill is aimed to get rid of the chairman of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan, Simonyan said that it is aimed at giving solution to the judicial crisis in Armenia.
“No one should think that it is a personalized issue,” he stressed.
At the extraordinary session My Step faction aims to include the package of bills on making amendments in the constitutional law on NA Regulation, in constitutional law on Referendum, in the constitutional law on Constitutional Court on the agenda of February 6 extraordinary session.
