Bill on Constitutional amendments is anti-constitutional, unlawful document: Naira Zohrabyan
The bill presented by My Step faction lawmaker Vahagn Hovakimyan does not contain any legislative initiative, Prosperous Armenia faction lawmaker Naira Zohrabyan told the reporters today, describing it as anti-constitutional, unlawful document that cannot be called either a bill or a document.
“The only purpose is to leave the Constitutional Court out of the game,” Zohrabyan stated.
“If on February 6 this bill passes, and I am sure that it will, it will really result in serious consequences and grave failures like it is said by lawyers Gagik Ghazinyan, Gevorg Danielyan and all. You will not find any expert in constitution, any serious lawyer who will not call for vigilance and urge even not discuss the bill,” she said.
Responding to the yesterday’s statement of My Step faction head Lilit Makunts that all the citizens of Armenia have authorized them to solve the CC issue, Zohrabyan stressed that no political force has the right to speak on behalf of the all people.
“I am a citizen of Armenia too, and I have not given mandate to anyone to solve the CC conundrum. Moreover, I think that there are more important issues in our country than the issue artificially brought to the agenda. We have no personality issues, and we will do everything to establish rule of law in the country,” Zohrabyan said.
