Situation over CC does not promote process of reforms in Armenia: Ruben Rubinyan
Chairman of NA’s Foreign Relations Standing Committee, head of Armenia’s delegation to PACE Ruben Rubinyan said he agrees with statement of the PACE co-rapporteurs about the tension between the CC and the staff of Armenia’s Prime Minister.
“I definitely share the concern of the PACE co-rapporteurs about the big tension between two institution in Armenia – the CC and the staff of Armenia’s PM. I think it is not normal, and I think it is a result of numerous political statements made by the CC chairman which are of opposition nature. The CC chairman who must not be engaged in politics is making political statements,” Rubinyan told the reporters.
He said the PACE co-rapporteurs’ statement registers low trust over judicial system in Armenia.
Rubinyan stressed that in their report the co-rapporteurs also stress that the tension must not endanger the ongoing or planned reforms in Armenia.
“This tension does not promote the process of reforms. In general, the situation created over the CC does not promote the process of reforms, and I think this issue must be solved. I am sure it will be solved soon,” he stressed.
