Drivers of tens of mini-buses in Yerevan declare strike
Drivers of a number of mini-buses (N1, 12, 10, 19, 34 etc.) have declared a strike (all the mentioned lines belong to one owner) today following the raise of daily fee.
“The drivers are paying the owner of the line 13,700 AMD daily while now they complain that they do not want to pay this tax,” one of the dispatchers of passenger transporting company told Aysor.am.
The information about the decision to raise the daily fee has been confirmed by the spokesperson of Yerevan mayor, who said that the owner decided to raise the fee for the drivers by 1,500 AMD.
He also said that out of 10 lines belonging to the same person only one – N24 bus – is operating.
“To give solution to the issue negotiations are currently ongoing between the municipality and the company’s owner. Of course, it is an issue to be settled between the owner and employees but it is also clear that the municipality too has its function and interest to restore the passenger transportation,” Karapetyan said, adding that additional information will be provided.
