Drivers of mini-buses stop strike, threaten to resume unless receiving privileges
Drivers of a number of mini-buses striking today declared about resuming their work.
They say they complain of the fee put on them by the owner of the lines.
“We are serving people and have no complaints, we are dissatisfied with the raise of the “tax.” We give 27,000 AMD daily, of which 10,000 AMD for diesel and the rest is the “tax.” Now, the owner of the line wants to raise it and we decided not to work,” one of the drivers told the reporters, adding that their monthly income makes such a small amount that they even owe to the owner of the line.
“After negotiations with the municipality we are told to go and work like we did before. Now we will get arrangement and see what to do,” one of the drivers said.
The head of municipality’s transport department and owner of the passenger transporting company urged the striking drivers to resume work, they said in the upcoming seven days they will work with the previously set fee until a solution is found.
“We agreed to it, but later we demand privileges to fit in our expenses. They should not raise fees on our account,” one of the drivers said.
