Hraparak paper writes authorities still hope to convince CC judges to retire
Hraparak paper says that despite the decision to conduct Constitutional referendum different governmental officials phone the CC judges offering to meet with Nikol Pashinyan, Tigran Avinyan or Rustam Badasyan.
According to the paper, the authorities have serious concerns regarding the outcome of the referendum.
“The authorities hope to convince the few of the CC judges to write application on retirement until February 27 and annul the referendum. The reason is not only that the draft on constitutional amendments has been adopted with the tough violation of the Constitution, they understand that not sending the draft to the Venice Commission will have grave consequences for them and the country, and annulling the referendum is not the most beneficial option. We have learnt that they are intensively working on three judges, one of them is Felix Tokhyan,” the paper writes.
