Prosperous Armenia to express its position over constitutional referendum after political council’s session

Head of Prosperous Armenia faction Gagik Tsarukyan said their force backs the idea of referendum.

“Mikayel Melkumyan delivered a speech and expressed our viewpoint, saying that we are ready to work for 24 hours, to discuss and preserve the legal side,” Tsarukyan told the reporters.

“We were waiting for the response. No response followed, and we did not participate in the voting,” he said.

Asked whether the public will say “yes” to the constitutional changes, Gagik Tsarukyan said, it is a question to be addressed to the people.

As to whether the Prosperous Armenia will be in the “yes” or “no” camp, Tsarukyan said the issue will be discussed at the session of the political council and a decision will be made.

“We do not have unanimous decision over the issue yet, we will discuss it and express our opinion,” the head of the faction said.
