PAP to convene political council session to discuss referendum issue: Gevorg Petrosyan
Prosperous Armenia party will convene a session of the political council to discuss the referendum of constitutional changes, deputy Gevorg Petrosyan told the reporters today.
“In accordance with our working style we have decided to convene session of the political council during which both members of our faction, party mates including from territorial structures will have an opportunity to express their viewpoint,” Petrosyan said, adding that it is necessary to listen to all and then make a decision.
Speaking about his own opinion, Petrosyan said he is against the referendum.
Asked why Prosperous Armenia faction does not join Bright Armenia to appeal the decision on conduction of referendum at the Constitutional Court, Petrosyan said they have no issue of joining anyone.
“I have not seen clearly expressed, official proposal from Bright Armenia,” he said.
As to why they do not participate in the formation of “No” headquarters, Petrosyan said not forming “No” headquarter does not mean that they are telling “yes.”
Petrosyan also rejected the information that the PAP has reached agreement with the authorities over the referendum, and PAP leader met with PM Pashinyan to discuss the issue.
The deputy said Gagik Tsarukyan has personally referred to the issue and denied the information about meeting with Pashinyan.
“What else should he do? Should he keep a camera on him and say “look I was here at this hour?”” Petrosyan said.
