They turned teachers into burglars: pedagogues complain of not getting salaries till now
Teachers of schools complain of not having received salaries yet.
“Today is already February 12 while we have not received salary yet,” teacher of literature Lida Sahakyan told Aysor.am, stating that it has already been officially stated that for working 17 days in January Yerevan mayor, NA chairman, ministers and others received salaries and bonuses while no one of them is concerned that a teacher has not received the sum she/he has earned.
The teacher said she is particularly upset with the difference of the Education Ministry and Yerevan Municipality.
“The prime minister is always stating about raising the salary of teacher by 10% but with they forget that this 10% refers to teachers having one rate while the number of such teachers in schools is very small,” she said, adding that the rise has been ensured on the account of job cuts.
“How it comes that the salaries of ministers and other officials is being raised by 100% and more, they receive bonuses every month but they do not give teachers’ salaries in time. It is not fair,” the teacher said.
Silva Harutyunyan, teacher of geography, said that teachers are asking for money from each other for reaching to their working place.
“People have loans, they must pay bills, they have children to feed. They turned a pedagogue into a burglar,” the teacher said.
Aysor.am will try to receive clarifications from the Education Ministry and Municipality.
Earlier the ministry released a clarification, saying that all the schools under subordination of the ministry received sums of salaries.
