Luys Foundation funds 94 scholarships during past 2 years
The vision of Luys Foundation was to have more competitive Armenia, former minister of justice Davit Harutyunyan said, reporting on the main results of the Foundation registered in 2019.
“Often when people are speaking about country’s competitiveness, they mean the economic indexes, but when we are speaking about the country’s competitiveness, we mean the country with its each manifestation – spiritual, cultural, educational. In all the mentioned sectors Armenia has no alternative but be competitive,” the former minister said.
“To reach our vision we separated three missions – education, action and co-creation. The third one is the most complicated element for Armenia but allows having new result by innovative methods,” Harutyunyan said.
He also stressed that for years Luys Foundation provided scholarships giving young people opportunity to get education in best higher educational establishments of the world.
“We have spent over 11 billion AMD since 2008. From 2018 our Board decided to gradually change the direction passing from educational program to acting and co-creating. Nevertheless, all the students involved in our programs have an opportunity to continue and complete their education,” the former minister said, adding that they funded over 94 scholarships in past two years.
