Prosperous Armenia faction head urges to reveal cases of suicides in Armenian army

Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarukyan says the recent frequent cases of suicides of soldiers must be studied at the investigative committee and the guilty must be punished.

“It is very painful, it is very bad. It must be studied immediately. The guilty, those who drive people to commit suicide must be punished. Imagine a parent is ready to send the child to the army and what they must do to make the child commit suicide,” he said, adding that cases have become rather frequent recently.

“It is a serious issue. They must focus on it, set investigative committee and understand the causes for solving the issue,” Tsarukyan said.

Chairman of the Investigative Journalists NGO, editor-in-chief of Hetq.am Erik Baghdasaryan wrote on Facebook that since 2020 twelve soldiers died in the Armenian army in unknown circumstances.
