Narek Samsonyan charged with false denunciation, released on signature bond
Chairman of the Civil Consciousness NGO Narek Samsonyan has been charged under Part 1, Article 333 of Armenia’s Criminal Code for false denunciation, press service of Special Investigation Service reports.
According to the charge, Samsonyan, with clear understanding of information he posts is false, reported as if Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan bought black caviar from one of the restaurants in Yerevan paying $3,000 for kilo. He said afterwards the PM’s security officials visited the same restaurant and bought another kilo saying that the sum would be transferred on the bank account of the restaurant, while the director of the restaurant said that in such case the price for one kilo of caviar would be $5,000. Samsonyan wrote that after learning about it the PM decided to punish the restaurant through State Revenue Committee.
“Realizing that the information he provides is false, Narek Samsonyan made false denunciation against Armenia’s PM accusing him of abuse of power,” the SIS reported.
