Future authorities to raise issue of legitimacy of upcoming referendum: expert

The forces who will come to replace the current authorities will raise the issue of the legitimacy of the upcoming referendum, expert in constitution Gohar Meloyan said during At First Glance program, referring to the April 5 referendum.

“If for instance “Yes” side wins and new Constitutional Court is formed we will have issues both with ECHR and issues will raise regarding the legitimacy of the newly formed CC,” she said, adding that a number of experts have already stressed the existence of criminal features in the whole process.

She also said that if previously elections were rigged, all the tools exist for instituting criminal cases, revealing the frauds and punishing the guilty.

“One should not use such information in abstract way for manipulations and present to public,” she said.
